How to Enter

If the future of our city, Bengaluru, was in your hands, how would you want it to look?


  • Read all the details provided on this website using the brown-coloured menu bar.
  • Read the rules and conditions to determine eligibility.
  • To register, submit the online registration form.
  • You will be asked for your name, team members’ names if applicable, age, contact information, signed parent/legal guardian consent form of each team member.
  • Upload of your signed parent/legal guardian consent form, as a .pdf or .jpg file (must be 300 dpi). The form must be completed and uploaded, and don’t forget the signature! If you are working as a team, each team member must submit their own signed parent/legal guardian consent form.
  • Once successfully registered, you will receive a unique identification number that should be the only information indicated while submitting your design.


If the future of our city, Bengaluru, was in your hands, how would you want it to look?

You can enter as an individual or as a team of up to three people. Only one team member needs to submit the entry on behalf of the team. Learn more about the design challenge and use these resources to help spark creative thinking.


  • You will upload your design as a .jpg (must be at least at 8.5 x 11″ at 300 dpi).
  • Use a A3 size paper, that is 11.7 x 16.5 inches (297 x 420 mm).
  • Your sketch can be drawn in any medium by hand or on a computer.
  • The quality of the sketch will not be judged, but it should help illustrate the design challenge statement.

1. Tell us about your design idea.
Describe your design and the story behind it. Is it influenced by something you have observed or experienced?

2. Tell us about the primary focus and key concepts of your design?
What specific element(s) of the city (roads, buildings, water, air, etc.) does your design reimagine for the year 2070? Why did you select these element? Why do you think they are important for the city’s future?

3. Tell us about the innovative elements included in your design?
Does your design imagine an object, structure, or an entire system that is not commonly used or applied? Does your design convey ideas about Bengaluru’s future that are original to your imagination?

4. If you had to start/continue doing one thing today to make sure your vision for Bengaluru 2070 would come true, what would that change be?
Add 50 years to your current age. You may already have retired or be close to retirement, with a family and maybe even grandchildren. Imagine how you want your city and your surroundings to look like such that you are living your best life. Remember, this future depends on your actions today.

5. (Optional question) Explain how your vision of Bengaluru’s future is influenced by its past?
Does your vision for Bengaluru reflect a decision that was made in the past (before the 2000s)? Why do you think this was an important decision?


The submission period will open from December 6 to December 17, 2021 at 11:59 p.m. (India Time). Late entries will not be accepted.


  • Your name and contact information, and the names and contact information for all team members, if applicable. Note: only one team member should register and submit the design on behalf of the team.
  • An upload of your design sketch as a .jpg file (must be at least 8.5 x 11″ at 300 dpi).
  • Answers to the design challenge questions.


  • The design cannot have any marks, logos, or writing on it that identifies your name or age so that the judges can review all entries without any bias. Only indicate your unique identification number.
  • You may not share your design on social media or in any public manner until after the winners are announced.
